I’ve always been a firm believer in: eating fat does not make you fat. I’ve been a full fat milk, butter and cheese kind of a gal. Originally, without any real evidence to back up my belief, it was always more of a gut feeling that natural unprocessed foods had to be healthier for us than processed. Over the years, especially since starting work on The Contented Calf Cookbook, I’ve seen more opinion, evidence and research to back up what I’d always felt. I felt that it was important not to demonise all fats as ‘poison’, but to try to pull together some of the information that’s out there, and break it down into manageable bite-size pieces, that builds a clearer picture about the facts about fats, not just the myths. 11/11/13
Exciting new research has discovered that strains of bacteria from a probiotic supplement can actually pass into mother’s breast milk, which could eventually help to reduce digestive problems in infants and help to promote a healthy gut. 24/10/13
